CodeX
CodeX is a branching interactive narrative about copying and distributing manuscripts through the ages.
Play as three different women throughout history and use the tools and technology of the time to make sure the text survives for future generations. But remember: choices have consequences (even if it takes centuries to see them).
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT:
- Fictionalised historical shenanigans
- Illuminated manuscript imagery now conveniently in the public domain
- Little pointing hands
- Choices that are remembered throughout the game
- No back button! You'll have to reach the end to discover the consequences of your choices
- Multiple possible endings
- 3 chapters
- Roughly 15-20 minutes of playtime
- Censorship! Material decay! Queer yearning! And lots of cats.
CONTROLS & HOW TO PLAY:
Play using your mouse: click on the various icons, choice buttons and hyperlinks to advance through the story.
At the beginning of each chapter an audio file plays - remember to turn up the volume!
CREDITS & ASSETS:
CodeX was built using Twine SugarCube v2, relying on SugarCube v2 documentation and using tips and tricks from HiEv's Twine 2 / SugarCube 2 Sample Code. A full list of resources, assets and references is available to download as a pdf below ('CodeX - References and Assets.pdf')
